Bending, pulling, and making a knot with the hair are techniques for gauging how much your hair has been processed. If the hair is under-processed, curls and waves will remain. However, if the hair is overprocessed, damage will result. If you want body in your hair, your hair needs to be rinsed to stop the processing when there is still a little wave left. This is a very important technique that requires skill and experience on the part of the stylist. After the hair is sufficiently processed, the rinsing procedure will follow. Application of the hair treatment after rinsing helps keep the hair healthy.
